This four-door model comes equipped with a great number of standard features and has several optional packages available as well. With two engine and transmission choices, the Milan is customizable for each buyer’s needs. Not only that, the 2009 Milan is affordable for even the most wallet-conscious consumer.

Under the hood, the 2009 Milan is equipped with a 160 horsepower 2.3L I4. Buyers can upgrade to a generous 221 horsepower 3.0L V6 as well. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, but buyers can opt for a five-speed automatic or six-speed automatic if desired. The Milan includes front-wheel drive, power rack and pinion steering, and an optional traction control system. Most family sedans for the 2009 model year include traction control as a standard feature, so the Milan could easily be overlooked by some buyers. Also, 20 city MPG and 29 highway MPG is not quite up to par with many other comparable models.

Inside, the 2009 Mercury Milan includes an MP3 audio input jack, a trial subscription to SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and an ample amount of storage. Families will be pleased with the instrument panel storage bin, overhead storage console, and the wealth of cupholders throughout. Also, grocery bag hooks are implemented in the Milan’s trunk, so bags will not spill over while driving. Four-way front passenger seats and a driver’s seat with lumbar support are included as well.

Six varying upgrade packages are available like the Wales Mahogany Wood Appearance Package that adds elegant wood accents throughout the interior. The VOGA package features luxurious additions like cashmere door trim inserts and 17-inch chrome clad wheels. Also, the Appearance Package gives the 2009 Milan a sportier feel with a rear spoiler, 17-inch wheels, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Base priced at $19,885, the 2009 Mercury Milan is reasonably priced and is an impressive intro sedan model for families. However, the younger consumer might opt for a more modern and powerful model like the Chrysler Sebring. With ten different exterior color choices, buyers will be pleased with the personal touch that they can put on the Milan, but most colors are muted and neutral, so some consumers might find the sedan to be bland. Nevertheless, those that are looking for an understated model will find the Milan to be a great match.
